FULL-LENGTH REVIEW : Psychotronik Breakdown by Numidian Killing Machine

Chaos, tragedy and triumph

Do you like fantasy and fiction worlds ? And do you enjoy extreme music ? If so, you can't miss the debut album from Numidian Killing Machine. Now get ready for a trip into a post-apocalyptic future, where chaos rules its laws. with Psychotronik Breakdown.

The album's intro starts in an ancient Amazigh language that clearly announcing chaos. Over the seconds, the guitar's resonances begin to take form, and the vocals becoming much more violent. And this is just the beginning of 46 minutes musical tsunami.

It was imminent, the second track Blood and Iron - The Reborn Kreation, explodes in a furious speed/thrash rhythm that gradually increases in intensity, creating powerful contrast before returning to its initial rhythm, now punctuated by guttural vocals. The bass player, at the 2:25 minute mark, unleashes a brief bass performance that announces the first guitar solo, followed by a change in the vocal's rhythm that keep the listeners on their toes. The thing that I particularly liked it was the chorus as it evokes the imagery of the post-apocalyptic world when Queen Dihya returns "to forge a new age"

Speed metal traits and elements are unmistakably present, and Gateway to Inner K-os is the perfect example. On this track, at the 2:30 minute mark, the vocalist unleashes an incredible growl followed by an intense guitar display. An eargasm is guaranteed. Hell E-Tronik Messiah offers a brief respite before diving back into its frenetic rhythm. The brutality is still present on Dev-Illusion from the very first seconds, the vocalist gives his all, delivering a hellish performance.

Numidian Prophecy is truly impressive, the instruments follow one another, to delivering intricate melodies and solo. Then, at the 4:14 minute mark the drums kick in, followed by a powerful vocals to reaffirm the musical violence of this album.

My favourite track, Marching to Cirta, kicks off with a bass guitar performance, then a drumming sequence comes into play, like a herald announcing the coming battle. Furthermore, the black metal vocals dominate the song. I must say, this song is made for people who are going to war !

Finally, after an instrumental track that begs to be replayed due its melodies and atmosphere, the album conclued with Psychtronik Breadown. From the very beggining, the music is fast and accompanied by furious hellish vocals. For 3:30 minutes the song is relentless and knows no breaks.
