FULL-LENGTH REVIEW : Abraxas by Alkhemia

A surge of brutality and melodies

French black metal band Alkhemia released their debut album Abraxas last March via Malpermisita Records. And it's relentless for sure. From the first notes we are blasted with sharp riffs. The album is dark and intense with its brutality and melodies.

The vocals are cavernous and brutal, all the screams perfectly reflect the dark mood of this full-length. They are filled with intense anger and pain. The songs are long and allow the band to develop its own compositions and musical structure, creating at the same time a brutal and melodic black metal.

With its debut album Alkhemia goes beyond the raw violence and artfully integrates darker and atmospheric passages. Evoking melancholy and an intense feeling, the contrasts make listening to Abraxass even more captivating and addictive.

Transhumanization perfectly reflects the brutality and the melody that characterizes the black metal of the french band. The frenetic rhythm and tormented vocals unleash an auditory storm, complemented by melodies that evoke a deep resonance. With each track, the rhythm escalates in intensity. And the last track, Reminiscence Quintessence, represents the pinnacle of violence and creativity on this album.

Abraxas marks an impressive debut album, delivering a mighty sound experience. It will be an essential monument of the current french black metal scene. Alkhemia is a name to remember for all black metal fans who are looking for an intense listening experience.
