The Polish band Deviation released their second album, Lair of Suffering, this last March. In this release, the band delves into the intense sound of Death Metal with intricate technicality. It's a piece to be discovered and appreciated for its artistic value.
From the opening track, the aggressive sound sets the tone for the 34-minute album. The riffs are relentless, and the frenetic drumming delivers solid Death Metal for genre enthusiasts. The sound is brutal and technical. Certain moments in this album, as in the second track Sign With Blood, remind me of Deicide, while others remind me of Cannibal Corpse.
The vocals add intensity to the music's rhythm, exploring terrifying screams and growls. The solos are unsettling, contributing to the album's dark aspect. The production quality is excellent, which makes the listener appreciates the band's soundscape.
Lair of Suffering, released via Fetzner Death Records, is a solid offering for all Death Metal fans. While the album doesn't revolutionize the genre, it is written and performed with such mastery that it captivates the listener.
