I discovered Vomitory in 2008, on the eve of my 20th birthday, and it was thanks to the album Terrorize Brutalize Sodomize (released in 2007) that I plunged into the merciless world of brutality offered by this Swedish band. It was a wonderful discovery that opened the door to the albums that preceded this one. And I've become a fan of the band!
During the 41 minutes of the album, the rhythm knows no respite, the soundscape is violent (music and lyrics), the guitars are fast, offering memorable solos, and the drums hammer relentlessly. Violent death metal, uncompromising and gory. As for the vocal growls, they are abysmal and will terrorise anyone not used to this kind of death metal.
My favourite tracks! but what the hell am I going to mention? all the tracks are captivating and no-one can zap off to listen to the next one. But if I have to (I don't but I'm going to anyway) my favourite tracks are: Scavenging the Slaughtered, The Burning Black, Defiled and Inferior, Whispers from the Dead, Flesh Passion.
And if I had to rate this album (something I don't like to do any more) I'd give it a 9/10.
